Life, once sweet in palaces grand
Has brought me down to barren land.
Oh Kings and Queens, where did you go?
Outcast by man so long ago.
Lay against your velvet gown
Protected by the Royal Crown,
At the hands of man I fall
Not revered, just used by all.
If, my fate this has to be,
Let me die, and set me free.

Pat Graham.
