Did you know that at some racetracks female greyhounds are injected with steroids to keep them from going into heat? As a result, they develop genital abnormalities and suffer terrible pain for the rest of their lives.
Steroid injections are what kept "Hope" running without a break for 159 races at Tucson Greyhound Park. Thankfully, she was one of the lucky ones and one day she was saved. Little Hope now lives with loving adopters and enjoys a soft bed, good food and lots of love.
But Hope still suffers from "urine scald." She cannot relieve herself normally because she is constantly plagued with urinary infections and painful sores. Corrective surgery may be the only answer.
