In Memoriam Page 11.

Sally Dogs give their human companions unconditional love and are always there with an encouraging wag of the tail when they are needed. The dog is indeed a very special animal.

- Dorothy Hinshaw Patent, Dogs: The Wolf Within

Sally, who was put to sleep on 27 April 2006, her sight and life so cruelly taken by cancer. We miss you so much. You were a beautiful, intelligent girl with a real sense of humour. It is because you brought such joy into our lives that we have now brought Larry, a gorgeous rescued Greyhound, into our lives. We thank you and Larry thanks you. God bless. xxxx
No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich.

Nagano Nagano
This is the beautiful Nagano (General Tide) who died in December 2006. Nagano had to race in Ireland and Italy until he became sick and his leg broken.
Finally Nagano was rescued by GIN and came to live with Ilse in Germany. May he rest in peace now.
Georgey Penny
George. Even though you used to bite all the time till you were 1 and had me go to hospital a few times, I am looking forward to the day we all meet again, and do the things we always did. Love you always little nipper xxx Penny. My special little girl the noisiest of you all. I hope you know that I didn't want you to go, but the vet said you had to, please forgive me. When we meet again I will make sure I bring you some Markies and Salmon Sticks, as you loved them so very much! Love you always sweetie xxx
Sam Titch
Sam. My special sunshine boy with your perfect black love heart on your side. I will miss you so very much and don't worry, your Winnie the Poo toy is still on your bed where you left it and never will go anywere. I miss your cold wet nose and your little whinge. Hope you are ok with your brother and sisters, and are all looking after each other. Love you always my little ray of sunshine xxxx Titch. The smallest one but such a fighter! You may have been small and only needed whippet collars and coats but you certainly made a big difference. You used to love playing with all the others and put them all in their place, hope you still are and making sure George and Sam don't fight, even though you joined in most of the time. Love you always little one xxx

When a dog offers you his heart
Accept it with a smile,
For his love will last a lifetime
Which is such a little while.

When a dog offers you his heart
Take it gladly and with pride,
For he will be a faithful friend
Ever by your side.

A dog loves you because you're you,
Not for how you speak or what job you do.
You could be short, tall, thin or fat
Or ugly as sin, he doesn't care about that.

A dog knows if you're good or bad
He can see inside your soul,
When he decides you're okay
To earn your love is his main goal.

When you're sad, he'll comfort you
And kiss away each tear,
You may even wake up in the morning
With a cold nose in your ear.

When eventually the time comes
And the lights in his eyes dim,
A new star will shine in Heaven
In remembrance of him.

You'll gaze up at the midnight sky
And you will hear him say
'I'm so glad you were my human
We'll meet again some day!'

So, if this poem has caused a tear to fall
That's because you love the dog who's giving you his all,
Go travel on together, happily paw in glove
He's the only one who'll ever give you unconditional love.

When a dog offers you his heart
Accept it with a smile
For his love will last a lifetime,
Which is such a little while.
